Hello, I am the creator of this blog. I'm glad to see that "someone" is interested. This is a blog for people who are willing to share their facts and knowledge of international music cultures. It basically analyzes all the music pieces together as a big group. I'm going to update two different songs from various cultures every week and people can freely write about what they know and what they hear from the two music pieces. And who knows, we might find some music experts! :)

I just came by and read your blog. But wow. You really are some dude that has a creative mind!

Gracie said...

Hmm. Your ideas are not so bad. So what are your first two songs? Have you chosen them? (:

Julie Her said...

Yes, the two songs for this month are “Poor Boy Blues” and “Chahar Mezrab.” Here is the general background; obviously, we can see that “Poor Boy Blues” is a type of blues from Africa just by looking at the title. In contrast,” Chahar Mezrab” is a traditional Iranian music.

I don't think we can find any connection between the two music pieces. It is more "obvious" that their music culture is so different.

Julie Her said...

Haha. You're pretty right. But I have chosen these two pieces to challenge ourselves and find a connection. We can be the music "experts"!! LOL...

Hello. I am the random guest. Hahaha. Goodness gracious! I was looking for a place just like this! I love music! I love to analyze music from wherever and I love to make connections!

Gracie said...

Um... Looks like we found a music "freak", but not an "expert."

catherine said...

Cut it out, you guys. Haha. So when are the songs going to be updated?

Julie Her said...

Thanks for asking! They are going to be updated tomorrow! :) Oh, and by the way, there is one serious rule in this blog that I want to mention.

catherine said...

Can't wait to hear it...

What is it?! What is it?!?!

Julie Her said...

The rule is that if anyone writes something that has nothing to do with our music pieces or just jots down random things, then I would have to ask them to leave. This is a serious blog, which is an open space for serious music people who can make analytical connections. We can have fun, but we should always respect music and not make a fool out of ourselves.

I agree... I also want to take this blog seriously and share what we know. Then, we can get to know each other better! Goodness, I am definitely excited. :) I just love to meet new people!

Yea me too. I just can't wait for tomorrow!
