Yea, we should talk about it and maybe start discussing about the connection they have when we divide them in to pieces such as in melody or structure. We can maybe start with differences.
I think so too. First of all, I noticed some melodic structures in both music pieces. Listening to "Poor Boy Blues," there are high leaps and small leaps throughout the song. Usually there is one phrase in 6 to 8 measures. The song has a low register for the vocal, forming a contour, up and down in a broken wave-like form. The broken part is when the background instrumentation is performing. But listening to “Chahar Mezrab,” the overall movement of the song is conjunct with few small leaps and usually there is one phrase in 5 to 6 measures, which is a bit shorter than “Poor Boy Blues.” The song has a low register, forming a contour, but in ascending and descending with small bumps. The range is narrow for the performer. Oh! I have actually tried to draw a picture that shows the melody patterns. I'll send it to you through email, and you can post it on this blog for everyone to see! :D

Wow. These two music pieces sound very different, but they seem to have a connection somehow.
